Arthur Miller’s Classic Play Comes to Glens Falls in March

A Preview of All My Sons at the Wood Theater

Neil Akins, Starring in All My Sons at the Wood Theater in Glens Falls: March 8-10, 2013Wrightstage Productions, in collaboration with Rabine Productions, Inc. and the Charles R. Wood Theater, will present Arthur Miller’s classic drama All My Sons at the Wood Theater in Glens Falls on Friday, March 8th through Sunday, March 10th.

Directed by Terry Rabine (the Producing Director of the Lake George Dinner Theatre), the cast features regional favorite Neil Akins (the Artistic Director of Wrightstage Productions) as Joe Keller. Akins will be joined by actors familiar to regional theatre-goers including Barbara Miner, Nick Baroudi, John Kearney, Avery Clark, Scott Liloia, Linda Britt, Wendy Waldron and Mark Rabin.

All My Sons remains one of playwright Arthur Miller’s most popular and frequently produced plays, winning the New York Drama Critics Circle Award in 1947. Written two years before Miller penned Death of a Salesman, a classic of American theatre, the play is a brilliant contemporary tragedy in which Joe Keller must come to terms with his past and the charges that he knowingly shipped faulty airplane parts to the military during World War II. Keller’s elder son and WWII pilot, Larry, has been missing-in action for two years and the play’s action surrounds Larry’s fiancée’s arrival at the Keller home with the intention of marrying Keller’s younger son, Chris. While Larry is presumed dead by most of the family, Keller’s wife, Kate, continues to hold out hope for his return and interprets Chris’ intention to marry Larry’s fiancée, Anne, as a betrayal. When Anne’s brother arrives at the Keller home to prevent the engagement, Joe Keller’s past indiscretions resurface in an explosive confrontation in which Joe’s desire to provide for his family is challenged by Chris’ insistence that his father is guilty of failing to recognize his larger responsibility to the larger society of which he is a part.

All My Sons has long been a favorite of both Rabine and Akins. The two have worked together on numerous productions at the Lake George Dinner Theatre and conceived this project as an opportunity to produce the play with select actors with whom both have wanted to work for years. Joining the collaboration will be Scenic Designer Anthony Krivitski, who has designed numerous sets for both Wrightstage Productions and LGDT, and Costume Designer Sherri Recinella.

Tickets for All My Sons are $25 and may be purchased through the Wood Theater box office at 518-874-0800, or online at www.woodtheater.org.
