If It’s Boston, It Must Be St. Patrick’s Day

Best Places to Celebrate St. Patty’s Day in Boston

Have a Drink on St. Patrick's DayFirst, let me be completely honest: Mardi Gras in New Orleans is the best party of the year. Better than New Year’s Eve in NYC and better than any sports team championship parade–I would know, I’ve experienced many. I’m not trying to show off my Boston Sports teams, I’m just stating facts. But in close second to New Orleans’ Mardi Gras is St. Patty’s Day in Boston.

If you are between the ages of 21-120, you better bring your liver to Boston on March 17th–and remember to forget your car at home. St. Patty’s day is one of my favorite times of the year, and I’m not even Irish; I’m Jewish. But that’s the best part of this holiday–the Irish invite you to celebrate with them. On St. Patty’s Day, everyone’s Irish and everyone’s drunk.

Even though St. Patty’s Day falls on a Thursday this year, the celebrations run throughout the weekend; so if you can’t get a day off from work on Thursday, you can still expect a good time on Friday and Saturday.

Do yourself a favor, find an Irish bar, and enjoy St. Patty’s Day.

Here’s a list of bars you should check out. And remember, it’s St. Patty’s Day, be prepared to pub crawl.

Bars for the 21-33 age range:

McFadden’s (can get crowded)

The Harp (long line after 10:30pm)

Clery’s (medium Line after 10:30pm)

Dillon’s (can get crowded)

An Tua Nua (will be insane on Thursday night St. Patty’s Day)

Bars for everyone: your son, daughter, mom, dad, grandpa, the whole gang:

The Black Rose

Coogan’s (always a good time)

As you can see, I know more about the younger crowd. Anyway, for more information on Irish Bars in Boston, open up a new tab in your internet browser, go to google.com, and type in ‘Boston Irish Bars.’ Capiche?
