Wood Park on Westbrook Road in Lake George.

As shown in a PBS Documentary, the Big Apple Circus is a European-style, one-ring circus that promises to offer an intimate circus experience with seating that is no more than 50 feet from the show and performers.

The circus features acts that take variations on a theme to the edge.  A Chinese vase juggler shows the ancient art of juggling heavy Chinese vases up and down his body.  A Russian Barre flips and does double somersaults on a flexible silver beam held by two strong men. There are also plenty of clowns, including the mischievous Grandma Clown.

The circus will be the first major attraction on the former Gaslight Village Amusement Park property, which is being turned into festival space and a park. According to Michael Consulo, Executive Director for the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce, “The response for the show has been very, very good. We have been getting calls daily about tickets and the best way to purchase is on line.”  Consulo also mentioned that the chamber will be selling tickets next week and that he expects the Lake George Visitors Center to sell tickets as well.

Tickets range from $10 to $40 and can be purchased online at or by phone at 1-888-541-3570. The Circus Box Office, located in front of the Big Top at Charles R Wood Park, will open Friday, July 13th.  Box Office hours will be open Wednesday–Saturday, 10am to 8pm, and Sunday–Tuesday, 10am to 6pm. For groups of 15 people or more, inquiries about wheelchair–accessible seating, or additional information, call the Ticket Info Line at 800-922-3772.
