Buyer Days, Saratoga Springs City Center

Crazy as a Loom RugsThe snow is melting, the days are longer and brighter, and according to our president, the recession is ending (one would hope)—all these factors are easily attributable to getting you in the shopping mode. If you’re a business owner, you’ll have the opportunity to do just that this Wednesday and Thursday, April 6 & 7, 2011 at the Buyer Days Gift Trade Show at the Saratoga Springs City Center.

This year marks the show’s 25th anniversary, and as such, approximately 65 exhibitors will be participating, offering thousands of wholesale product lines that you can sample, as well as get the opportunity to meet the faces behind them in person. Lodgings, eateries and shopowners will likely find the event particularly useful, as many of the exhibitors here offer eclectic and locally made wares. Twenty-five percent of the exhibitors offer specialty made foods, including the VT Made Richard’s Sauces, the Original Saratoga Chips, Roger’s Rustic (a new company to the show, the company operates out of Hudson Falls and offers Caribbean & Hawaiian flavored sauces mixed with Adirondack ones), Barkeater Chocolates and Whiteface Mountain Gourmet Maple Products. The other exhibitors you’ll find here range from candle makers to jewelers to photographers to potters to rug makers to wood carvers to just about every kind of craftsperson and/or artisan you can imagine. They come from all over Northern New York and New England, and the products they sell tend to be associated with mountain, lake and river settings.

There will also be some extra show specials, like an education seminar by Ron Friedman on the psychology of gift certificates/cards, along with some great discounts and goodies, like free food samples.

If you’re an exhibitor who would’ve liked to get in on the action, unfortunately registration is already closed (hey, there’s always next year). However, for those buyers/business owners wishing to attend, the deal is pretty simple. Just show up at the Saratoga Springs City Center and bring along a copy of your business identification and you’ll be admitted free of charge. Hours of the show are Wednesday, April 6 from 12pm-6pm and Thursday, April 7 from 9am-4pm.
