Events get underway at 8:30am on Friday, June 6th with an inflation demonstration at Cambridge Central School. If you’ve never seen a hot air balloon up close or aren’t entirely sure how they operate, here’s a great chance to see the whole process. The official opening ceremonies will commence later that night at 6pm, with opening ceremonies at the School featuring local dignitaries and live music from the Washington County Band. The Cambridge School will also be hosting a carnival from 5pm – 9pm with rides, crafts and plenty of food, all leading up to the first launch starting at around 6:30pm. The launch will be followed by a concert and a fireworks display at the Cambridge Guest Home Park starting at 8:30pm.

Saturday, June 7th has a full day of fun, food and yes, balloons! Family oriented activities will take place throughout the village all day long. First up is a balloon launch scheduled for 5:30am at the Cambridge Central School…be sure to get there early to get a great view. Highlights for the rest of the day include a free breakfast buffet at St. Luke’s Parish House beginning at 6:30am and ending at 11:30am (St. Luke’s will also have a Tag Sale going on from 8am-3pm), and the annual Lacrosse Jamboree at Cambridge Central School from 9am-5pm. Also on tap is an open house from 10am – 4pm at the Monastic Communities of New Skete, where the local nuns are known for their killer cheesecake.

If you’re a fan of classic cars, head on over to VARAK Park for the Balloon Festival Auto Show starting at 10am, where you can check out some hip, classic cars and hear some live music.

The Taste of Cambridge Food Festival returns to the Cambridge Guest Home Park from 5pm – 9pm, and will offer a wide assortment of food selections from local Cambridge eateries.

The balloons will take to the skies once again starting at 6:30pm at Cambridge Central School. The evening comes to a close with a dramatic Moon Glow celebration at Cambridge Guest Home Park starting at 9pm.

Sunday, June 8th kicks off with the festival’s final balloon launch at 5:30am at Cambridge Central School. After catching the balloons, stop by the Cambridge Village Farmers’ Market next to Hubbard Hall, where you can find plenty of great local goods from 10am-2pm. A great way to top off a fun filled weekend.
