C.A.M.E.R.A. Show Review–Photo Center of the Capital District; Comfort Inn, Glenmont, March 27, 2011

Photo Center C.A.M.E.R.A Show. Photo, Dave Bower. We recently attended the Photo Center’s C.A.M.E.R.A. Show in Glenmont, just outside of Albany. Not only did we get the chance to see a lot of unbelievably cool cameras, but we were also able to speak with several photographers and camera dealers about the history of photography, current trends in products and the somewhat unfortunate outcome of transitioning from film to digital. These “old hats” (and a couple young ones too) have never wavered from their love of film, or for that matter, their love of these shows, despite a diminishing audience over the last six or so years; some are even doing some pretty innovative things with older model cameras. If you’re a camera buff or even just a lover of all-things-antique, you’ll definitely want to make a point of swinging by one of these shows in the future.

Watch our coverage of the March 2011 C.A.M.E.R.A. Show.
