Three of her engaging books that focus on the insect world will come to Proctors on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 7pm, as an entertaining musical show.

Helmed by regarded theatre director Rob Urbinati, in conjunction with the Omaha Theater Company, Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly is a highly inventive show that will appeal to audiences of all ages.

Featuring a unique mix of choreography and music, while utilizing a visually impressive set, this is an engaging adaptation of Ms. Cronin’s charming books.

According to Urbinati, Ms. Cronin’s books ”have great, clever illustrations by Harry Bliss, which represent the limitations that the characters face being quirky little bugs. Our choreographer, Sue Gillespie Booton, has teamed up with musical director Jerry Brabec to bring that visual humor to the stage in a way that kids can relate to.”

What makes this family friendly production equally fascinating are the intricate costumes by Sherri Geerdes, which provide a “bug-like” version of the characters than other productions of Diary of a Worm, resulting in bigger laughs from children and adults alike, that highlights Urbinati’s talent for presenting exotic, unforgettable characters from an insect’s perspective.

Tickets for Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly are $7 and $9. Visit www.proctors.org/events/diary-worm-spider-fly for tickets and more info. Proctors is located at 432 State Street in Schenectady.
